FAQ's

If your question isn't answered here or if you need further information, email us at enquiries@web-blinds.com or phone us on 0800 169 3938.

What is the difference between exact and recess?

An exact blind will be made to precisely the measurements you enter into the site. So if you want the blind to go on the outside of your window this is the type of measurement you should give us.

A recess measurement is needed for a blind that you would like to fit within the recess of your window. We make reductions to the blind to ensure that it will fit perfectly within your window. See how to measure for more information.

Can you deliver blinds outside of the UK?

Currently we are unfortunately only able to deliver blinds within the UK.

My business would like to put our logo on a blind, but have it facing outside so customers can see it, is this possible?

This is becoming very popular with businesses. Just order your personalised blind by uploading your chosen logo or image and once the blind arrives, simply turn it to face outwards!

Is it possible to buy ready made blinds and cut them down myself?

No, because of the excellent quality headrails used on all our blinds, we don't recommend cutting the headrail yourself. If you are looking for a blind to go in your recess it is really worth the extra investment to have a made-to-measure blind that will fit perfectly.

I would like blinds for my conservatory, can I order online and are they difficult to fit?

You can order blinds for the sides of your conservatory from Web-blinds - Verticals, Venetians and Pleated are the most popular. If you have a uPVC conservatory you just need to take care to avoid screwing into the sealed unit when fitting your blinds.

If you would like blinds for the roof of your conservatory, we would recommend that you make an appointment with Hillarys whose advisors are trained to measure and fit your blinds perfectly, go to the Hillarys site to see the many different options of conservatory blind and accessories.

I have some fabric I would like to go onto a blind, if I supply it could you make me a blind?

Unfortunately we don't offer this service. All of our fabrics are chosen as they are very high quality and all fabric will have had lots of tests to ensure our customers are happy with their blinds for years to come.

My blind looks a different colour to the sample on screen, why?

We endeavour to make sure the colour of the blind shown on our website is the exact colour of the blind you will receive, however in some instances there may be slight colour variation, due to colour variation on different computer screens. We always recommend that you order a FREE sample. We cannot accept any responsibility for any colour variation if you order blinds without a sample.

I bought two wooden Venetian blinds and they look different to each other, even though I ordered exactly the same blind, why is this?

As wood is a natural product, the look and behaviour of each of our wooden Venetian blinds will be different to the next. The grain may vary between each slat and other features may appear, such as pin knots, tiger striping, burl figures and mineral deposit.

These characteristics will make some slats seem darker or lighter than others. So we sort each of our slat shades into three colour classifications and always ensure that an individual blind is made using slats from the same classification.

So please remember this when you order a sample as this too may vary to the finished blind you receive, your sample is only an indication. Your finished blind will always benefit from its own shade variation, which guarantees uniqueness.

If you don't like these natural characteristics then we would recommend a wood effect Venetian blind.

What type of wood are the wooden Venetian blinds made of?

Our wood Venetians are made from Basswood that is grown in sustained forests, this is perfect for Venetian blinds because of its strength and flexibility. The wood is kiln dried, which stabilises it, cut into slats and then stained to provide a colour range that varies.

Please be assured as all blinds are subjected to leading industry quality tests and remember too that the wood has been kiln-dried too for added stability. Every blind is checked before it leaves the factory.

Do you sell blackout blinds?

We have a selection of blackout blinds in our Rollers range, which are perfect for cutting out light coming into your room.

Alternatively whilst our Roman blinds are not blackout they are fully-lined, so help to reduce the light, rather than eliminating it completely. Roman fabrics in a darker colour would be more effective than the lighter ones.

Do any of your blinds help to keep the heat out in the summer as well as the light?

All of our blinds are designed to reduce the light coming into your room but our Pleated blinds have the added feature of being able to reduce the heat in the summer and retain the heat in the winter.

I have a large window and want wooden Venetian blinds do you sell them in wider widths than 200cm?

If you have a large window we would recommend that you go for a wider width of venetian, our 50mm wooden Venetians go up to 242cm.

I want some Vertical blinds, do these come with a headrail and do I get to choose the colour?

Our Vertical blinds are sold complete with headrail and fittings, as are all our blinds, however in the case of Vertical blinds all are supplied with a white head rail and the bottom chain and weights are all white too.

Do you supply Roman blinds with side winding mechanism?

No, our Roman blinds on web-blinds work on a manual system with a metal cleat, which is fixed to a wall or window frame to secure the blind in position. If you do want a Roman blind with a side winding mechanism please book an appointment with a Hillarys advisor or contact our customer services team on 0800 916 6524.

What is your refund and returns policy?

Unfortunately as our blinds are made-to-measure we cannot offer a return or refund as our blinds are custom made to your exact requirements and consequently cannot be resold by us. Therefore it is important to make sure that you enter your exact requirements into the website.

All of our blinds come with a 12 month guarantee, if your blind arrives damaged or becomes faulty at any time within the first 12 months than please contact our friendly customer service team on 0800 169 3938 or email enquiries@web-blinds.com, who will be happy to help. See our terms and conditions for more information.

My Vertical blind has arrived but I do not have an Allen key, what should I do?

Our vertical blinds come with an Allen key in the same box as your louvres, if you cannot find your Allen key or loose it before installation of your headrail please ring our customer services department on 0800 169 3938 or email enquiries@web-blinds.com and they will send you a new one.

Can I change my mind about which side the control and bunch are on my headrail?

On most of our blind types you must make sure you enter your exact specifications including which side you want the control and bunch. However our vertical blinds have a reversible headrail meaning that you can change the control side when you receive your blind.
