Every one is unique

As wood is a natural product, the look and behaviour of each of our wooden Venetian blinds will be different to the next. The grain may vary between each slat and other features may appear, such as pin knots, tiger striping, burl figures and mineral deposit.

These characteristics will make some slats seem darker or lighter than others. So we sort each of our slat shades into three colour classifications and always ensure that an individual blind is made using slats from the same classification.

So when you have received your sample please remember that it may vary to the finished blind you receive and your sample is only an indication. Your finished blind will always benefit from its own shade variation, which guarantees uniqueness.

The ageing process

Characteristics within the wood will make some slats seem darker or lighter than others. We always select similar coloured slats to make each blind but this may mean that two or more blinds bought at the same time will not be identical.

Over time these colours, especially the darker ones will fade in the sun in much the same way as curtain fabric. Of course, this effect means that blinds bought at different times may not match each other. However, they will contrast beautifully and over time will blend to a very similar shade, providing a beautiful and practical window covering for years to come.

What are the blinds made of?

Web-blinds Wood Venetians are made from Basswood grown in sustained forests, this is perfect for Venetian blinds because of its strength and flexibility. The wood is kiln dried, which stabilises it, cut into slats and then stained to provide a colour range that varies.

Please be assured as all blinds are subjected to leading industry quality tests and remember too that the wood has been kiln-dried too for added stability. Every blind is checked before it leaves the factory.
