The before pictures of Claire’s bathroom show a shocking blue suite and tiles original to her 1950s home. You won’t believe the transformation.
“We wanted to create a modern, family bathroom,” explains Claire. “Before, there was a separate toilet room (with no sink in it) and a bathroom which just wasn’t practical with young children. And apart from anything else, the bathroom was original to the house so well overdue a makeover!
“We knocked through to make the toilet and bathroom one large space and chose a neutral colour scheme so we could brighten it up and change the look easily with accessories.
“We wanted a luxury hotel feel to the room, so fully tiled every wall and splashed out on quality furniture whilst saving money on things like taps.
When it came to dressing the windows, a family member recommended Web-Blinds to Claire, and she couldn’t believe the choice.
“We liked the idea of using mauve and lime green as accent colours in the room, and there was so much to choose from to go with this theme. It was great being able to order sample swatches of our shortlisted fabrics as we could not only try them out in the room, but also take them to match against accessories.
“We eventually fell for a fabric called Waves Zest as the colours went perfectly with our towels. It felt really modern and we knew it would brighten up the room.”
Claire wanted to be able to let lots of light in, so a Roller blind was a smart choice. It can be rolled up neatly to the top of the window in the day.
“We found the whole process so easy,” says Claire. “We were worried about having to drill through our tiles for the brackets but had no problems at all, and thanks to the easy instructions had both blinds fitted in about an hour.
“Because they are made-to-measure to our windows, they fit perfectly too. In fact, the hardest part of the whole process was choosing the right fabric as there were so many great options!”
