How to – embrace Scandi style

This month, we’re helping you bring global style to your home. And this time, we’re looking at our chic Scandi friends.

There’s something about Scandi style. It uses effortless white, exposed floorboards and geometric prints to create a stunning scheme: think IKEA but with fewer Billy bookcases. Read on for full details on getting the look, or scroll to the bottom for style snippets.

Work white

If there were a Scandi rulebook, ‘love white’ would be number one. Learning to work with the fresh shade is the basis of Scandi design, and the more you dare the better. Lots of us think of statement shades as daring, but opting for all-white can be just as daunting. Introduce the look with white blinds, such as our Warner Ivory fabric.

Shutters are also a fantastic way to bring the look to your home. Our North Coast shutters have the added advantage of being waterproof, so you can even bring the style to your bathroom or kitchen.

Go geometric

A cushion or blind is a fantastic way to inject a touch of geometric fun to your home. Our Triangles Indigo Roller blind is a fab print, while the striking shade will work well with more neutral surroundings. And of course, if it’s a blackout blind you’re looking for, we’ve plenty of fun prints in our range featuring blackout linings.

Win with wood

Wood goes with Scandi chic like strawberries and cream. If you can’t stretch to exposed floorboards or solid furniture, try Wooden blinds instead. Here, we’ve teamed our Deluxe Puritan blind with sand tape for a look that coordinates with the window frame.

Experiment with texture

Lots of texture is another great way to mix up your home. We love the way the shaggy rug, floor and soft furnishings are contrasted in this room. You could play with wood, or you could even opt for sheer textures to add interest.

Scandi chic home

Our White Sugar Vertical blind really is something special, and is a stylish alternative to frumpy net curtains. Combine with classic seating, like these Eames inspired chairs, for a look that is fresh and fun.
