We love a couple with style, and Lou and Ian definitely fit the bill. Take a look at their living-dining room and kitchen and see how Web-Blinds added to their eclectic taste.
Like lots of couples around the country, Lou and Ian have been tinkering with their home since the day they got the keys. And now the downstairs spaces are finished.
“We replaced our kitchen last year and previously had Venetians at the window,” says Lou. “We then had the windows replaced and everything re-plastered and never quite got round to the replacing the window dressings.
“As the nights drew in, we started to notice the lack of privacy with the light on. And the room generally looked a little unfinished. That’s when we saw this gorgeous Roller blind fabric on Web-Blinds.”
At the same time, the couple were updating their open-plan living-dining room. There’s a beautiful bay window at the front of the house, as well as a window overlooking the garden.
The spaces have a retro-vintage flavour, with the couple favouring things with a little more character than your usual high street finds.
“We like to mix old and new. We love things that have a worn patina, like our amazing chesterfield sofa,” says Ian. “We’re also really into music, so the open-plan space is multifunctional and flows really nicely.
“We had Roman blinds at the window before, but they were worn and poor quality. Lou repaired them at least a couple of times, so enough was enough!
“We chose a textured black design that complements our grey backdrop. We love that we can pull in bright colours with accessories like rugs and cushions.”
So when the couple had chosen their fav fabrics, it was time to get measuring. And how was that?
“It was really easy to measure,” explains Lou. “The instructions were so simple to follow, and the blinds cover the window well. Of course, we realised that no old house is ever truly square! But the blinds fit perfectly.
“We’re really impressed with the quality of both the Romans and Rollers. They’re robust but not too heavy, and there was a great choice of colours on the site.
“We’ve gone for very contrasting designs – bold in the kitchen, while letting our other accessories do the talking in the living spaces. But the finished results look equally as gorgeous and seeing our finished rooms really puts a smile on our faces.”
