We took a peek around Jayne’s home back in August last year. Now in a new pad, she shows us her brand new refurbished bathroom.
It’s funny how life turns out. Last year Jayne was happily sprucing up her two-year-old Darcey’s bedroom with a beautiful blackout Roller blind. However, it soon became clear that the house just wasn’t working for Jayne and her growing family.
So they set about looking for a bigger house with a bigger garden Darcey could enjoy running around in. And at the end of last year, they found it.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t in quite the condition they wanted. Undeterred by a project, they set about refurbishing the house. And the bathroom was at the top of the list.
“Though it’s a five-bedroomed house, there’s only one bathroom and no en suite, so it was important to us it looked its best,” says Jayne.
“It felt unloved, and needed totally redoing from the wood panelled ceiling to the worn chequered tiles.
“We replaced the whole suite with traditional pieces, and gave the room a contemporary feel with mosaic tiles and monochrome artwork.”
All that was left was two blinds to dress the pair of windows. And after the success of Darcey’s room last year, Jayne knew exactly where she’d look.
“The Karoo Onyx fabric we chose matches our room perfectly. The Roman blinds don’t clash with the mosaic tiles either, which we thought might be a problem.
“Roman blinds are my favourite style of blinds. They were just as easy to fit as the Roller blinds we ordered last year, and they really finish off this functional room.”
