When we saw Kylie’s amazing kitchen-diner, we could hardly believe it wasn’t a showroom (two kids actually live here too, yes, even with that gorgeous glossy floor)! Now it’s your turn to swoon over her spick and span space.
Kylie’s new build home came with a glorious glass feature in the dining alcove. But one thing the show home didn’t demonstrate was how to dress these lovely doors and windows.
“Originally, we were going to leave them bare,” explains Kylie. “But one day when we were upstairs we saw just how much of our neighbour’s house we could see through their identical doors and windows. We realised we were living in a goldfish bowl too, so we needed something fast.
“There are a lot of doors and windows to dress, so we were a little stumped at first. Then a friend mentioned Web-Blinds’ Perfect Fit blinds. We had a look and knew they’d be great for the job.”
Our Perfect Fit blinds clip into the frames of individual panes of glass meaning you can still make a feature of pretty doors and windows, and they’re available in both Venetian and Pleated styles. With privacy control the order of the day, Kylie went for the Venetian option.
“Measuring was simple and when the blinds came they were easy to fit,” says Kylie. “We started with the smallest windows to dip our toes into the water, then worked up to the largest windows and doors. The best bit was that no tools or drilling were required.
“It’s so lovely in the warmer weather. They don’t blow in the breeze, even when the doors are open, and the white shade means they reflect the light, giving the whole room an airy feel.
“And of course, with no fabric, it’s easy to wipe little finger marks off! We quite enjoyed fitting them in the end. It’s a satisfying feeling doing something yourself, and now they’re up, the blinds really have transformed our kitchen-diner.”
