There’s nothing like a warm shabby chic style to make a place feel like home. Take a look at how Lizzie has made her space feel anything but shabby – and how Wooden blinds from Web-Blinds helped along the way.
Lizzie lives in a two-bedroomed terraced house which she’s rented for nearly 6 months. When it comes to making a new place feel like your own, Lizzie’s learnt it’s all about the little touches – photos, pictures and homely window dressings.
“I adore the shabby chic look as it’s a very calming, contemporary yet classic feel,” says Lizzie. “Before moving into the house there were very old red curtains at the living room window, short black curtains at the bedroom window, the second bedroom and kitchen didn’t have any window coverings.
“Upcycling old furniture is a huge hobby of mine, giving either antique, contemporary or basic pine furniture a rustic look. It’s also an affordable way to achieve an expensive looking piece of furniture.
“I knew I’d like Wooden blinds to complement the shabby chic scheme, and there was plenty of choice on Web-Blinds.
“In my living room, I’ve gone for a modern shabby chic look style with greys, cottons, pale blues with hessian accessories throughout. The driftwood grey shade of the Deluxe Old Rope Wooden blinds fit in perfectly.
Upstairs, the calming colours and stylish shabby chic scheme continues.
“The two bedrooms have very calm look and feel, with pastel lilac as a feature wall,” says Lizzie. “I wanted a contemporary boudoir effect. I’ll also be adding a roman blind to the bedrooms to place on the outside of the window to frame the window. And of course I’ll be coming back to Web-Blinds!
“Fitting the blinds was a simple and easy process, only taking around two hours to fit all five of the blinds. Very little time at all!
“The measuring and fitting guides on the website are extremely easy to follow, if I can do it anyone can!”
