There’s something about a shabby chic scheme that just makes things feel super homely. And with Natasha and her partner making a business out of restoring furniture, it’s no wonder their bedroom and kitchen got the shabby chic treatment.
“My partner is a furniture restorer, so shabby chic is in our blood,” explains Natasha. “We recently had our kitchen extended, and my husband and his carpenter friend made the kitchen from scratch. When we’d finished, there was nothing at the window so it lacked that finishing touch.
“We were really pleased to have a recommendation from a friend for Web-Blinds. We ordered some samples to compare colours, and eventually decided on a textured cream Roman fabric.
“When it came to the fitting, I thought we’d have to get someone professional in, but it was dead easy – even though our windows are far from straight!”
The kitchen wasn’t the only room that got an update though – Natasha’s master bedroom was due some TLC too.
“Last February, our daughter Bethany was born and our bedroom was feeling like a playroom. We decided to add some blackout Roman blinds to the space for a bit of luxury.
“The lift they provided was instant – the blinds made it feel updated and like we’d got our own space back. And we’ve banished the brightly coloured plastic to Bethany’s room!
“We’re really pleased with the colour – it’s much cosier with that extra layer at the windows and the blackout lining is brilliant too. “
So there we have it – Natasha’s rooms are proof that it’s the little things that make a big difference.
