Whether you love a little colour or a lot, colour blocking is the coolest trend this season. It’s easy to perk up your home with just a few splashes of hue. Here’s how.
Think outside the box
We’re pretty comfortable with feature walls, and we know the drill when it comes to painting whole rooms. But what about this adventurous room? There’s very little yellow paint on those walls, but what a statement it makes.
By breaking free from the restraints that say we should paint in multiples of whole walls, we’ve made a striking focal point (to draw your eyes to that gorgeous Fauxwood blind).
Clash two shades
Colour blocking can be as bold as you dare. With this green and orange combo in a bedroom, it’s safe to say we dared to make a statement. The beauty of both paint and blinds is that they are only as permanent as you want them to be. Mixing it up is super easy.
Let your blind do the talking
If you’re not ready to shake neutral walls just yet, let a bright blind do the talking instead. We’ve gone for vibrant turquoise here, and added in splashes of other striking shades with cool wall art and plump cushions.
How do our customers style the trend?
As usual, our customers have some seriously creative ideas too. Here are a couple of cool ideas.
Andrew mixed up his home office in his garden with four mismatched Perfect Fit Venetian Blinds. The result is a work of art – in fact, rather like a Mondrian painting!
Lou channelled the colour block trend with a halfway splashback in her kitchen. The retro orange shade is cool on its own, but combined with that gorgeous graphic Roller blind, it’s a style winner.
