First up was Helen’s bay window. The previous owners of the house had left behind tatty blinds that were looking more than a little worse for wear. So it was time for a light and airy shake-up.
“It’s a big bay window that is fairly close to the street, so I wanted to maintain privacy and filter the light,” says Helen, “so something with adjustable slats was a must. I think Wooden blinds look really contemporary, and when I held up the samples I’d ordered, the 50mm slats suited the window perfectly.
“I also have a white Wooden blind in the upstairs bedroom so liked the idea that the windows could match at the front of the house. They’re so gorgeous, especially with the tape option!”
In the same room, Helen also has an external door with glass panels that look out onto the street. She never felt like it was totally private, especially when it was dark outside and the lights were on. The door called for a different blind type.
“For the door, Perfect Fit blinds were the ideal solution,” says Helen. “I chose a blackout Pleated fabric to manage the light, as guests often stay on the sofa bed in that room and the light streaming in was always a problem.
“Now I can pull down the door blinds for total privacy in that room and it feels much cosier.
“I’m delighted with the way both sets of blinds look, and how beautifully they finish off my room!”
