With spring officially underway, it’s time to spruce up our home with some fresh shades and fun patterns. Take a look at any home interest magazine and it’s hard to ignore the lashings of green and botanical prints.
When Dee got in touch to ask for advice on updating her living room for the new season, we were only too happy to help.
Dee’s living room used red as an accent colour which created a cosy effect, but we wanted to show her just how easy it was to get a light and airy look for spring. Our Botanist Aqua Roman blind, from the blue Roman blinds range was the perfect starting point, with fresh aqua and zesty chartreuse providing a stylish colour palette.
We then set ourselves the challenge of updating the feel of the rest of the room for under £50. It turns out, a few clever touches really can make all the difference! With geometrics more on-trend than ever, we wanted to bring together the blind with the rest of the room. We found a zingy green frame for a steal, and added turquoise zigzag cushions.
Then, we opted for a couple of photo frames, a snuggly cream throw for any unseasonable weather (because it is Britain, after all) and a stylish green cushion. Throws are a fab way to lighten dark sofas.
Finally, we added a couple of vases to the window sill to complete the look – we think they set off the blind perfectly. And after buying all our accessories, we still had some change jangling in our pocket!
So what does Dee think? “I love the bright shades in the blind, and the way they’re picked up with the cushions and accessories. It’s made such a difference to my room. In fact, my guestroom is a lime green, and I think this fabric would look stunning there too!”
